Kerala expat in Dubai wins Dh25 million in Abu Dhabi Big Ticket draw
Dream Car winner celebrates shared success with group participants
ABU DHABI – An Indian expat in Dubai has won Dh25 million in the latest Big Ticket draw, marking a major milestone in his years-long participation.
The live event, held on Sunday in Abu Dhabi, brought moments of celebration for multiple winners, including a luxury car recipient.
Winning moment
Abdul Rasheed Allipra Valappil Abdu, a 48-year-old driver from Kerala, secured the grand prize with ticket number 012318, purchased on April 19. He has lived in Dubai for 17 years and has been buying tickets every month for the past six years.
The winning call from hosts Richard and Bouchra came while he was with friends. Initially in disbelief, he asked, “You are not joking? How many million?” before expressing his gratitude. Abdu said the moment was special and plans to consult family and friends before deciding how to use the prize.
Other winners
Alongside the grand prize, five consolation winners each received Dh1 million. The winners include Leo Lorenz from Ajman, Ritesh Lobo, Rajat Satish and Chaitanya Ramachandran from Dubai, and Murali Vazhayil from Oman.
In the Dream Car category, Asharaf Abdulla, a 41-year-old driver from Kerala based in Abu Dhabi, won a Land Rover Defender with ticket number 022963. He has been participating in the draw for nine years, often pooling entries with groups.
For the past three years, Abdulla has been part of a group of 40 participants and also contributed through two additional groups. He plans to share the prize among members, highlighting the collective nature of the win.
May campaign
Big Ticket has announced a refreshed campaign for May, featuring a Dh20 million grand prize to be drawn on June 3. Additional opportunities include The Big Win with prizes of up to Dh600,000, as well as weekly e-draws offering a combined Dh400,000.
Luxury car giveaways will also continue, maintaining consistent engagement for participants aiming to become the next big winner.
